Proudly representing the magnificent and illustrious city of Benin, Rema and Shallipopi have whipped up a groovy banger aptly titled Benin Boys.
The release which has been a long awaited collaboration by fans of both artistes serves as a conveyor of several firsts; the first- ever collaboration between the two artists and Shallipopi as the first Nigerian feature on a Rema song.
Co-produced by Rema alongside the phenomenal, Producer X, Benin Boys is a celebration of Benin City, its people and their rich heritage. Rema and Shallipopi bring their new age energy into “Benin Boys” taking listeners into an electrifying soundscape as they effortlessly deliver verses that boasts of the swagger and splendour of what it means to be an indigene of the great city of Benin.
Prior to colonisation by West, the great Benin Kingdom served as the first civilised city in West Africa famous for its vast trade relations, several prominent artifacts and its rich culture and heritage, it’s no surprise that the sons of the land who are superstars in their own right would pay homage to its greatness.
With this collaboration on the heels of his recent feature on King Promise’s album, Shallipopi adds another flamboyant feather to his well worn hat.
Rema is also blazing the trail following his recent unveiling of a hard core emblem announcing his return after a brief hiatus and a hint at new things to come.
